MindCraft АI Research Lab is on a roll! This time our task was quite well-known – object recognition using Internet Protocol-based surveillance cameras. The demand for this technology is booming right now. Especially for the specific, selective recognition, identifying objects which possess specific predetermined characteristics. In our case, we were looking for a person wearing red clothes. We were trying to catch the exact time when this person enters the monitored area, and when they leave.
It was both interesting and challenging, since our partners reached out to us being on a tight deadline, and gave us only 3 business days, the exact period of time they had before the appointment with investors. And we did it! Our team managed to deliver comprehensive results within such a short period of time!
We were especially interested in this idea because of its huge potential. It is not new, but there are so many applications that we believe will enter our lives and become routine in a year or two.
There are many devices which already apply this technology, e.g. to identify deviant behavior, potentially violent situations, weapon carriers, etc. Most of them are still only at the beginning of their journey.
MindCraft is very enthusiastic about such projects with object recognition, as we wholeheartedly believe that this technology is a game-changer. It could have an immense positive impact across kindergartens, schools, shopping malls, factories, manufacturing plants, and offices. It can help improve public safety, tracking objects (e.g. in sports), activity recognition (e.g. in wildlife observation), and other areas of human life.
We are thrilled to be able to contribute to projects with the potential to make the world a better, safer, smarter place, and we are grateful to our partners for giving us a chance to become part of this exciting project. Keep going, there are still so many undiscovered benefits technology can offer!
P.S. Our Research Lab carries on with its work. We are happy to have received so many applications! We will continue sharing our success stories and failures with you, so stay tuned and keep sending your ideas to explore. Let’s move the world forward together!
